The original trilogy did not gain as much fame until its prequels were launched. The prequels of Star Wars featured some important events like Clone Wars, The Great Jedi Purge, how Anakin became Darth Vader, etc. The Star Wars prequels trilogy is still considered the best trilogy ever produced by Lucasfilms.

While all the events took place simultaneously, the hardcore fans could not help but notice Anakin’s Jedi weapon. Anakin’s lightsaber may not have received much attention with so much going around in the story. So, let’s have an insight into the ultimate weapon of the most powerful Jedi/Sith ever lived.

Anakin Skywalker’s First Lightsaber

In the first episode of prequels, Anakin was only a kid. Qui-Gon brought him along after seeing his potential, but Qui-Gon died, and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi trained Anakin. The second episode, “Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.” begins with a grown-up Padawan Anakin.

At this moment, Anakin was a trained Padawan very close to getting the title of Jedi Knight. He wielded a standard lightsaber with a blue blade. Anakin used his blue lightsaber for quite a long time during the Clone Wars. He completed many missions with it, some with his master, Obi-Wan, and some with Ahsoka Tano.

Some people say Anakin lost his blue lightsaber many times during the Clone Wars and created new ones. However, it is most likely that he lost the same lightsaber again and again after Obi-Wan repeatedly found it for him.

Before the Attack of the Clone, separatists were giving a hard time to the Jedi Order. Anakin killed Count Dooku and killed the separatist movement. He made many other achievements with his blue lightsaber before turning to the Dark side.

The Skywalker Lightsaber

Anakin’s blue lightsaber is one of the most famous lightsabers in the Star Wars community. The reason is that this lightsaber did not serve under one Jedi, but three, and all of them are the main protagonists of their trilogy.

Anakin Skywalker created the Skywalker lightsaber, but after turning to the Dark Side, he lost this lightsaber after losing to Obi-Wan on Mustafar planet.

More About The Skywalker Lightsaber

Obi-Wan kept the blue lightsaber to him and gave it to Luke Skywalker after Luke grew up. He told Luke that he was once a Jedi Knight and Luke’s Father was a great Jedi too. He told Luke the Skywalker lightsaber belonged with his father and now it belongs to him.

Luke Skywalker became a Jedi and used the Skywalker lightsaber against the Empire. Luke used this lightsaber against Jabba when he went to free Han Solo and at many other events. His main fight with the Skywalker lightsaber was against his father, Darth Vader. Luke lost his hand during the battle, and the Skywalker lightsaber got lost in the depths of Cloud City, but this wasn’t the end of the Skywalker lightsaber.

In the sequels trilogy, we get to see the skywalker lightsaber again. Han Solo and Rey went on a planet to meet Han’s friend, Maz. In Maz’s castle, Rey heard some voices in her head. She felt like something was calling her. She went into the basement of the castle and found the Skywalker lightsaber in a trunk.

Rey used the Skywalker lightsaber in all three episodes of the sequel trilogy. She fought against Snoke, often against Kylo Ren, and then killed Darth Sidious for good in the end with his blue lightsaber.

Rey was not a Skywalker, but she used it as her surname because she was trained by two Skywalkers, Luke and Leia. Since three different generations of Skywalkers used this blue lightsaber, it is called the Skywalker lightsaber. Rey buried the Skywalker lightsaber somewhere in the desert to honor the legacy of Skywalkers.

That was the story of Anakin’s blue lightsaber. The Skywalker lightsaber had always been the most wanted lightsaber among the Star Wars community. If you want one like a Skywalker lightsaber, visit the Zia Sabers and pick your favorite lightsaber out of a collection of hundreds.
