Fans are recently talking about Darth Zannah and his lightsabers after the Video game Star Wars. The videos games of Star Wars gives us insight into many characters of the Old Republic. Yet, we do not get in-depth details about Darth Zannah Lightsaber and her life. So, we will quickly discuss the character Darth Zannah.

Bane’s Heart

Darth Zannah was a Sith Lord who existed at the time of the Old Republic. At a young age, she turned to the dark side and became an apprentice of Darth Bane (The Sith who devised a rule of the two).

Darth Zannah wielded a double-bladed lightsaber. As a Sith, she had a red coloured Saberstaff. Her lightsaber had a long cylindrical hilt with an emitter on both sides, emitting two red blades (like the one Darth Maul had). The blades of Darth Zannah Lightsaber are 0.75 m which is a little shorter than standard and longer than the Shota lightsaber.

Like many other Sith lords, Darth Zannah’s lightsaber was also crafted with two Kyber crystals. One red Synthetic Kyber crystal, while the other one was called Bane’s Heart. Her Master Darth Bane gave her this crystal to craft her carmine blade lightsaber. Carmine refers to a dense colour with a little shade of purple in it.

She took the crystal from her Master and crafted her lightsaber. The Bane’s heart lightsaber crystal was unique in its behaviour. When someone other than Bane’s Heart’s owner touched the crystal, electric energy was discharged from the crystal.

Darth Zannah’s Lightsaber Combat Form

Darth Zannah was a powerful Force-user and an extremely skilled lightsaber wielder. Since she wielded a double-bladed lightsaber, she mostly relied on a defensive approach. Darth Zannah used Form III of lightsaber combat known as Soresu.

Soresu is a combat Form that helps boost the defence with a lightsaber. With her Bane’s heart lightsaber, she complemented her defence, deflected blasters, and her lightsaber was like a wall in close combats.

Darth Zannah wielded Bane’s Heart for many years and had many lightsaber duels in her lifetime. She fought with her lightsaber against many Jedi Knights, mercenaries and finally against her Master Darth Bane to become the Dark Lord.

Following the “Rule of the Two.” Darth Zannah challenged her Master. Darth Zannah was no match for Bane, but her lightsaber in close combats gave her an upper hand, or maybe she had the upper ground. Well, she managed to defeat her Master Darth Bane one way or another and became a Sith Lord.

She took Darth Cognus as her apprentice and lived her life as a Sith lord. It is unknown how she died, but fans guess her apprentice killed her for the throne of the Sith.

What Happened to Bane’s Heart?

Darth Zannah lightsaber, Bane’s Heart was crafted in ancient times, but it existed long after its owner was gone. We are not sure what happened to Bane’s Heart after Darth Zannah, but we know that it appeared again centuries later during the Clone Wars.

Before the Clone Wars, an unknown Dark Jedi found Bane’s Heart. Soon, the Clone Wars started, and the Jedi slayer, Lord Grievous, found and killed this Dark Jedi. Bane’s Heart became part of General’s Grievous’s lightsaber collection.

On the battle of Utapau, General Grievous fought against the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and was defeated. After Grievous’s defeat, the Empire recovered Bane’s Heart and his other lightsaber collection from his starfighter.

After the Empire recovered Darth Zannah’s lightsaber, they gave it to a battle droid N-K Necrosis. Not much info was revealed about Darth Zannah’s lightsaber after.

Darth Zannah’s lightsaber Appearances

For the first time, Darth Zannah’s lightsaber appeared in the Novel known “Darth Bane: The Rule of the Two.” The story revolves around Darth Bane but tells enough about Darth Zannah and her lightsaber.

The Novel did not give it as much success. Darth Zannah’s Bane heart got its fame after releasing the Video game “Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided.” The game meets up to expectations and in its detail. Suppose a player uses Bane’s heart crystal for his lightsaber. In that case, the lightsaber emits a carmine colour, meaning a mix of the purple-red colour blade.
