The beginning of my journey operating a Xenopixel saber was a bit rough. For one, the lightsaber manual fell out of the box without me realizing it, so I was more or less flying by the seat of my pants trying to work the features until I got the app downloaded. (THANK EVERYTHING HOLY for the app!)
The required assembly/disassembly of the crescent moon in order to install or remove the blade was tricky. I dropped three screws, finding one, then the other two MUCH later. So I'm grateful for the extra parts. Installing the hardware wasn't particularly clear and spitballed my way through it. Once the blade was in additional screws were needed to secure it. I've currently got a custom Legendary Silver Crystal blade plug in it, but it's not fully secure.
The manual operation of the saber was so finicky that I rage quit messing with it. (Remember: manual fell and I had no idea what I was doing.) Changing the options was excruciating, especially if I accidentally missed the selection I desired of sound font/blade color as I'd have to cycle all the way through. Once I got it paired to my phone through the app, though, that was a huge improvement.
A couple notes: would prefer that the saber didn't come preset to full brightness and highest sound. (Sensory sensitive.) First thing I did in the app was turn the brightness down by 50%. Would also be great if the background sound effect when using the Moon Saber setting could be adjusted in volume. Hearing it while playing the music is aggravating. Also still haven't figured out how to activate the Force abilities with that setting, at least manually. Doing it only through the phone is not convenient if at a con, wearing gloves. :\
Overall, more than pleased to finally have this saber.
